Marshae Sanders ~ CEO Rare Fashions

Nicci Writes It:

“Shae, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy schedule and linking with me... sooo let's get into it sis!!!”

Nicci Writes It:

“Fren do you remember how old you were when you became obsessed and fell in love with the idea of becoming a clothing designer?”

Marshae Sanders:

“I was about 24 when I started having the desire to own my own boutique.. I always had an eye for fashion and I love to shop. I decided to further my education and went back to school and obtained my degree in Applied business in Fashion Merchandising. I obtained my degree at The North Coast college. Formally known as Virginia Marti College. I believe that is where everything started to fall into place.”

Nicci Writes It:

“Fren do you recall the moment YOU decided, ‘okay, I’ve found my calling? ‘Being a fashion designer’ is LIFE?”

Marshae Sanders:

“To be honest I was a little delayed when it came to realizing fashion was my passion. It was really my mother who pointed out that fashion was something that I should pursue. Another moment that made me realize this was for me was when my cousin let me style him for a video shoot that he had. He brought me a whole bag of just random clothes and asked me to work with them. I was able to style him and put together super dope outfits out of what I was given. I had the time of life styling him. That’s when I decided that I wanted to take the plunge and step into the fashion industry.”

Nicci Writes It:

“Fren, the Marshae Sanders experience… How did you fall in love with designing?”

Marshae Sanders:

“I’m not really sure if there is a Marshae experience, but I am very passionate about my line. I want everyone who has purchased an item from me to feel important. I want them to feel confident and sure of themselves when they wear my brand. Overall I just want to uplift people and allow people to express themselves however they see fit...”

Werds Nicci Wrote:

“Fren please spill all the tea about your brand, Rare Fashions…”

Marshae Sanders:

“Rare fashions means Remain Authentic with Raw Expressions. The brand was created to promote self love and individuality. I want people to embrace being themselves and not worry about what others think. Caring too much about other people's opinions can be mentally draining and could also put some people in a negative headspace. Sometimes others can and will fall into depression. I want this brand to also shed light on Mental Health Awareness and do my best to give back to the cause...”

Nicci Writes It:

“Fren, do you have a niche clientele? What celebrity would you LOVE to style? & Why?”

Marshae Sanders:

“I really don’t have a specific niche clientele. My brand is for everyone. There isn’t a celebrity that I would style because i'm not a stylist, but if I had to pick a celebrity to rock the brand I would choose Monica. Her style is so dope.”

Nicci Writes It:

“Hey Fren, you stepped out on faith and started Rare Fashions. How did you get started? How did it take off?”

Marshae Sanders:

“Rare Fashions was originally supposed to be a women’s boutique. I didn't have all of the funding to start so I decided to create a t-shirt line to help me with the financial part. After reevaluating the name of the brand and going over what rare meant to me it turned into way more than I could have imagined. I did my first live on social media ever to introduce the brand and what it stands for to help, from there everything is history.”

Nicci Writes It:

“Hey Fren, the lipstick lounge wants to know where do you see all of your brands in 3 years?”

Marshae Sanders:

“In 3 years I hope to be able to continue on with my own online business and create more dope designs. I would like to have a storefront and possibly a few franchises in different cities. I would like to be known for unique and just the overall message.”

Nicci Writes It:

“Hey Fren how do you converse with a client who says, ‘I don’t agree with your styling choice for me, you’ve got my style all wrong.’

Marshae Sanders:

“Rare Fashions is not a styling business, but I do try to accomodate all of my customers as best as I can. Some customers want a design or a color combination that we do not offer, but I try my best to make it happen. I let them know that what they are asking for is not something that we carry but I will look into it and see what I can do. Sometimes I am able to deliver and other times I have to express my apologies when I can’t.”

Nicci Writes It:

“Hey Fren what is Marshae Sanders your dream for Rare Fashions?

Marshae Sanders:

“A dream for Rare Fashion is for the brand to be well known and to male a difference in someone’s life. I want my brand to be a positive impact on everyone. Everyone needs an outlet for them to express themselves and I would love for Rare Fashions to be that.”

Nicci Writes It:

“Hey Fren what are 3 things you can’t ever be without?”

Marshae Sanders:

“3 things that I can’t ever be without is god, my family, and my phone.”

Nicci Writes It:

“Hey Fren what do you love the most about owning your own fashion line?”

Marshae Sanders:

“The thing that I love the most about having my own clothing line is seeing my customers rocking my creations. It brings me great pride and joy to see so many people proud to rock the brand.”

Nicci Writes It:

“Hey Fren the Werds Women & Wine crew wants to know about Marshae’s skills. How do you perfect your fashion design skills?”

Marshae Sanders:

“As of now I am new to the designing world so the way for me to perfect my designs is to just keep drawing them out and playing around with placements, colors, and graphics. Sometimes I love what I create and others have to go back to the drawing board.”

Nicci Writes It:

“Hey Fren how do you get the word out about your services?”

Marshae Sanders:

“The way that I get the word out about my brand is through social media and word of mouth. So far they have been very effective ways to market. Plus they are both free. I plan to expand and start doing pop up shops and events in the future.”

Nicci Writes It:

“Hey fren the Werds Women & Wine crew wants to know about Marshae’s advice for future fashion designers who aren’t confident in their ability?”

Marshae Sanders:

“My advice to future designers is to just do it like nike. Everyone isn’t going to like what you’re doing, but it’s ok. Your brand just isn’t for them. You will be surprised by the amount of support you will get. I know that I was. For every 1 person who doesn't support you there are 10 more who will.”

Werds Nicci Wrote:

“Hey Fren the Werds Women & Wine crew wants to know what’s Marshae’s favorite quote & why it’s your favorite?”

Marshae Sanders:

“I have a few favorite sayings but my ultimate favorite mantra is “Everything Happens For A Reason” This is my favorite because it helps me stay grounded when things aren’t  going my way. There are going to be times when things go wrong or just some unexpected things happen. This saying allows me to keep pushing forward.”

Nicci Writes It:

“Hey Fren the Werds Women & Wine crew wants to know how they can find YOU on social media?”

Marshae Sanders:

“You can find me on instagram or facebook. My instagram is @rare.fashions @beyoutiful_shae. Facebook is Marshae Sanders or you can follow the business page Rare Fashions. The direct website is www.rarefshns.com.”
