Veronica Drake ~ Authoress

Nicci Writes It:

“Veronica, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy schedule and linking with me... sooo let's get into it sis!!!”

Nicci Writes It:

“Fren do you remember how old you were when you fell in love with the idea of becoming an author and speaker?

Veronica Drake:

“First, thank you for giving me this awesome opportunity to be a participant on this fabulous platform. As always you wow me, sis! To be honest, I never considered being an author. My writing took place as a way for me vent in a healthy way. I was encouraged by friends like you to share my words and not keep them hidden.”

Nicci Writes It:

“Fren do you recall the moment YOU decided, ‘okay, I’ve found my calling? ‘Writing poetry is LIFE?’

Veronica Drake:

“It was not until 23/24 that I started writing poetry or should I say recognized that my personal journal had a flow of its own. Even at that time I didn’t realize it was a calling, just a means of therapy without “going to therapy.”

Nicci Writes It:

“Fren, the Veronica Drake experience… how did you fall in love with all with the spoken werd?”

Veronica Drake:

“The first time I experienced spoken werd was high school, freshman year. The young lady got up, shared her soul and left my mind blown. The courage it took for her to stand in front of everyone and speak her truth just humbled me.”

Nicci Writes It:

“Fren please spill all the tea about your book, Not So Plain & Simple?”

Veronica Drake:

“Not So Plain & Simple is a history of my struggles with finding love and acceptance. My devastating encounters with heartbreak and rejection. My longing for true intimacy and wanting to experience the big “O” that has always been elusive to me. And finally the realization I have always had what I was looking for in the wrong places.”

Nicci Writes It:

“Fren, do you have a niche clientele? If so, who are they & why?

Veronica Drake:

“I would say women everywhere, but then I was told not to leave out the men by one of my friends who said he enjoyed it immensely and men also experience the same heartache. So I guess there is something for everyone over the age of 18.”

Nicci Writes It:

“Hey Fren, you stepped out on faith and wrote Not so Plain & Simple. What was the motivation behind it? How did it take off?”

Veronica Drake:

“I have to say you were one of the motivating factors that helped push me to take off when you released your book “Taming Kane, Claiming Mia” I remember sharing my idea of a poetry book and you said just do it. You were encouraging and supportive.  You lit a fire that turned into a slow simmer. Thank you for being the match! I may have procrastinated but here I am. 😊 My children are always my biggest inspiration.  I always want them to try to reach for the stars. Not set limits on what they believe they can do.  I never considered what impact it would have on me if I did it but what example it would have on them to see me at least try.”

Nicci Writes It:

“Hey Fren where do you see Veronica Drake in three years?”

Veronica Drake:

“If it is God’s Will I am still here alive and well, with a best seller. Travelling the world with my girls and experiencing mind blowing sex with a man who sees and love this Not so plain and simple woman. LOL.”

Nicci Writes It:

“Fren, what are 3 things you can’t live without?”

Veronica Drake:

“God, my family, and a new opportunity to make someone smile.”

Nicci Writes It:

“Fren what do you love most about being a womanpreneur?”

Veronica Drake:

“What I love most is showing other young women that they too can do it. Being that stepping stone or role model to our younger or not so younger ladies.”

Nicci Writes It:

“Hey Fren we want to know about Veonica’s skills. How do you perfect your writing skills?”

Veronica Drake:

“I spend a lot of time reading.  I also have 2 amazing friends Nichole Lynn and Ebony Cole who are both published authors that extend help with cultivating creativity and helping to take those crazy ideas and transforming them to life changing realities.”

Nicci Writes It:

“Hey Fren how do you get the word out about your brand?”

Veronica Drake:

“I use all social media platforms, word of mouth of friends and family.  I am still trying to find my way.”

Nicci Writes It:

“Hey fren we want to know about Veronica’s  advice for future author’s who aren’t confident in their ability?”

Veronica Drake:

“My advice would be to take a leap of faith.  God placed something in you, gave you a pen and paper and HE is trusting you not to waste HIS gift. What HE sees in us is not for our understanding. We are our own worse critic.  You may have a masterpiece sitting in your closet and choose not to move forward with it because you believe it is not good enough. Remember it reached paper because you wanted to share it to help someone who was going through something, to motivate someone, to make someone laugh or to just move someone to feel.”

Nicci Writes It:

“Hey Fren the Werds Women & Wine crew wants to know what’s Veronica’s favorite quote & why it’s your favorite.”

Veronica Drake:

“I never saw a wild thing sorry for itself. A small bird will drop frozen dead from a bough without ever having felt sorry for itself.”― D.H. Lawrence…This poem resonates within me. It keeps me grounded when I feel sad or less than. It goes hand in hand with “This too shall pass”

Nicci Writes It:

“Hey Fren the Werds Women & Wine crew wants to know how they can find YOU on social media?”
